Message from the Chairman, Westmorland County Agricultural Society
With the current uncertain times caused by the outbreak of COVID-19, I would like to reassure you of the Society’s actions. Our main priority is of course the health of our volunteers, visitors, traders, contractors, exhibitors and staff. During these unprecedented times the Board are meeting by conference call regularly, at least every two weeks.
Based on the current UK Government Advice we are remaining as positive as we can in regards to the 2020 Westmorland County Show being held on Thursday 10 September. However our plans will always be directed by the latest Government advice. The Board remain positive in the hope that the restrictions thus imposed on public gatherings will be relaxed by September. The situation is of course completely out of our hands, but whilst there is hope, we will continue to plan and make arrangements for the “best one-day Show in the country”! Business continues as “normal” as possible in the build-up, albeit the office team are all working from home. We are still accepting trade stand bookings and selling tickets online via the website. We encourage everyone to continue supporting the Show in the knowledge that their booking or purchase is fully protected if we are directed to cancel our event. This also applies to anyone who has already made a booking or purchased tickets with us.
