2020 PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION
In February of this year the Shorthorn Council made the decision to revamp the photographic competition and rebrand it as the “All Britain Dairy Shorthorn Awards”. We feel that the title “All Britain” will increase the prestige to the winners.
In light of the current situation and the lack of opportunities of breeders to promote their cattle via the show ring it is hoped that breeders will seize the opportunity to engage in this competition. The Shorthorn Society will undertake to pay a £20 cash bounty on all entries to the competition to a maximum of 6 entries per breeder. To qualify photographs will need to be of a professional standard. In addition to this inducement Wendy Young of Clipaholics has kindly agreed to offer a 20% discount to any members wishing to use her help to prepare and photograph animals.
The competition is open to all paid up members of the Shorthorn Cattle Society who are resident in Great Britain and Ireland and all animals pictured must be registered with the Society and must qualify to be shown under current society rules.
The Council has also decided to have the competition judged by a voting system along similar lines to the Ayrshire and Holstein breeds.
We look forward to receiving your entries, there is an Entry form, with the competition rules attached to this email that will need to be printed off and sent back with your entries.
