Royal Welsh Show 2019

Judge: Will Slade | 22nd - 25th July 2019

In the stunning Welsh valley this years Royal show welcomed one hundred years in style.  From beginning to end there was a celebration of all things agriculture headed by the Show and our Dairy Shorthorn President, Seimon Thomas.  It became only fitting that Judge Will Slade, Brimclose herd, Devon tapped out Drisgol Church Daisy 5 from the Thomas family as Supreme Breed Champion.  “This cow is a fantastic breed example, dairy, correct and displaying the longevity the breed is renowned for.  Neither my Champion nor my Reserve have anything to prove, these cows are a testament to why we breed Dairy Shorthorns.”

Rosemary Reigns Supreme at Cheshire

This years ninth National Dairy Shorthorn show saw first time exhibitor Frank Bailey presented with the trophy when Tanat Rosemary 2 was tapped forward by Judge Neil Madeley, Nejay Herd, Bridgnorth.  “She embodied what I look for in the shorthorn breed, well balanced, beautiful bone quality and great confirmation in the udder, she was the obvious choice for me today.”

Great Yorkshire Show 2019

Judge: David Winnington | 9th - 11th July 2019

This year’s Great Yorkshire show was, as always, a phenomenal shop window for the Dairy Shorthorn breed as the exhibitors pulled out all the stops for Judge David Winnington, Rantonall Herd, Staffordshire. David tapped out Churchroyd Gentle 105 from IRG Collins & Partners as this year’s Champion. “This cow was so well balanced that she had to be Champion today.”

Staffordshire County Show 2019

Judge: Thomas Moscrop

Hat Trick For Harper'sAnother year at Staffordshire County Show ground and another outstanding display for the Dairy Shorthorn breed. This years judge was Thomas Moscrop, Irthingelt herd, Carlisle and he had no doubt in tapping out his Champion Burbrook Jinny's Meg from Richard Harper. “This cow is an excellent example of the modern Shorthorn, a great working cow and one I would like to take home. She definitely has a bright future ahead.”

Royal Highland Show 2019

Cactus 30 Claims The Crown at Royal Highland

Winbrook Cactus 30th was tapped out as this years overall breed champion by Judge Rob Boote, Kayl Herd, Cheshire. “She was a clear winner for me today, catching my eye as she entered her class full of milk and well balanced, she had to be Champion.” Cactus 30th is owned by Adam Lawson and joined the Lisnamulligan family from David Dents May 2017 Dispersal.
